STYLE GURU STYLE: Buongiorno Bold

As someone who studied abroad in Florence, Italy last spring, the spring 2016 ready to wear Dolce&Gabbana show was an absolute dream. It’s whimsical, bright ensembles took me right back to sipping prosecco in one of the lovely piazzas throughout the city. Like the Italian culture, this collection embraced the beautiful while not taking itself too seriously. With playful stitching of various Italian staples, the opening look stunningly set the carefree tone of the show. Besides making me desperately want to blow my savings and buy a one-way ticket to Italy, the Dolce&Gabbana spring collection inspired me to put some fun and color into my normally neutral fall wardrobe.

Mixing prints is something that’s always slightly intimidated me, but this collection made me want to give it a shot. So today I paired some more neutral plaid pants with a bright, fun top. I was pleasantly surprised with the way the geometric pattern of the pants and the carefree colors of the tops paired so well together. As soon as I had the two on I felt like I was right back in my favorite my place in Florence, Piazza Santo Spirito, enjoying a cappuccino and croissant. Instinctively I grabbed my leather jacket to add a bit of fall flair to my bright look. For my shoes I opted for neutral wrap sandals. The dark leather makes these sandals perfect for the fall Fashionista like me who lives in a hot place where it still feels like July.

To really bring out the playful vibe of Dolce&Gabbana, I opted for bright blue accessories. I’m currently obsessed with mirrored lens sunglasses so this was the perfect opportunity to break out my new Quay Australia shades. I added some very special blue drop earrings I picked up in Capri, Italy while abroad, making me nostalgic for the gorgeous coast of southern Italy. The Dolce&Gabbana collection encompassed the beauty of fashion in a fun “wear what makes you happy” way.

Get My Look: 1. A bright printed top. 2. Neutral printed pants. 3. Bold mirrored sunnies.
