STYLE GURU STYLE: Bundled Up

Many people dread the winter season, which tends to feel extra long when going home to Chicago where the high many days is no more than five degrees. I, though, take it as an opportunity to bundle up in all of my coziest and cutest clothes.

My favorite part of winter is coats. The coat I am wearing here is a simple, black coat from Topshop that is lined with fur and has silver accents for the buckles. It’s a classic looking coat but with a motorcycle jacket twist adding more interest to my outfit. I love black jeans, they are such a great basic staple that look stylish but, don’t compete with other elements of an outfit. This allowed me to accessorize with a grey knit hat with a fur puff at the top, the same color as the oversized turtleneck I wore underneath my coat, again both from Topshop. A sweater like this is so easy to wear and makes the cold that much more bearable. I finished this outfit with a pair of black boots, that also have silver detailing. Zara is my favorite place for boots that are reasonably priced and go with everything, but, are still unique.

This outfit is so simple to recreate! First, find a warm hat and cozy sweater in the same color. You can go basic and do a neutral color like I chose, or do something a little more fun and bright. Wear a cool coat over the top and your favorite pair of jeans. The only thing left is a pair of boots. You can add jewelry if you want to add a little something more. I chose to wear a simple silver bracelet and the three silver rings I wear everyday.

With cool basics, it makes it much simpler to bundle up and look fashionable at the same time.
