STYLE GURU STYLE: Bring The Balmain

Is anyone else still not over Kimye’s “Army of Lovers” ad campaign they did for Balmain’s spring/summer 2015 menswear collection? I love the Balmain Army, and it was that campaign that got me hooked as a loyal follower. When I saw this colorful dress hanging on the rack, I immediately thought of Balmain’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

Though the clothes in that collection did not feature much pattern, the bright, bold colors are the main focus, which is exactly why I was so attracted to this dress. The exuberant hues of red, yellow, purple, green, etc. come together to make the dress a statement piece. On the same note, Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s creative director, creates clothes not only in this line, but in all of his lines that are known for their slip on and go simplicity. In my opinion, there is no better slip on and go dress than a short bodycon dress.

Additionally, most of Balmain’s clothes can be seen on the party circuit. From celebrity to model, they all rock Balmain. The reason being is that the clothes are the perfect fit. They are bold with a hint of flirt appeal. I love those qualities, and I think that is another reason I was so attracted to this dress. It screams fun, and I could easily slip this on for the next summer party. I decided to make the dress my own by adding a lot of gold bracelets and a pair of gold earrings. They aren’t normally seen on the Balmain runway, but I wanted to add another color that would not take away from every color in the dress.

The clothes that appear on the Balmain runway are exciting. This campaign made me excited for fall clothing, and I can’t wait to see the Balmain Army dressed head to toe in these fabulous clothes.

Get My Look: 1. A dress with bright hues. 2. Simple black shoes. 3. A stack of gold bracelets.
