STYLE GURU STYLE: Boho Chic

July 13th, 2016 at 2:00am

During summer, I like to bring out one of my favorite styles that I feel is only getting bigger. I am all about the boho-chic pieces that I can turn into any look. My closet is my sacred place where you can find a lot of chunky platforms, lace tops, flowy shorts and a TON of flared plants! I love putting my own modern twist on old, vintage looks.

Vintage lines are all the rage on the runway. Veronique Branquinho’s resort 2017 collection took inspiration from the iconic vintage classics with the modern appeal. She used her pieces to accentuate spirit, femininity and history. Veronique Branquinho’s collection consists of natural colors and a variety of boho tops and undulating skirts. The look that I put together brings all of these iconic looks into one.

I was so excited to be able to share this outfit with you because it gives me a chance to show off my personal style. With this look, I was able to express my personality as well as compare it to a previous runway collection.

With this boho-chic style, you can dress it up or dress it down. For a more casual look, all you have to do it change the heels to flats and throw your hair up in a ponytail! For my outfit, I decided to stick to the traditional boho look. I threw some loose waves in my hair and put on a pair of my favorite chunky platforms. On the runway, all the rave was about  loose peasant tops. In this outfit, I wore one of my newest additions from Free People. This lace peasant top is in the neutral tones but has some light colors throughout. I paired it with a mustard tank to give a pop of color underneath the cut outs. As we saw on the runway, it is all about loose fitted bottoms. I picked out a loose pair of tie shorts in army green to keep this look in the nature tones. Lastly, to finish out the look, I kept it simple with a tan wrap bracelet that was made of suede rope. Throw on your favorite pair of shades and your ready to take on the day!

I feel that this trend will only continue to grow and get bigger on and off of the runway. I am so excited to add to my collection and to continue to get inspiration from the best of the business on the runway. I hope by sharing this with you that I give you the same inspiration that the runway gave me!
