STYLE GURU STYLE: Bohemian Rhapsody

Now that summer is here and the math textbooks are closed, the sun is beaming hotter than ever and the boho vibe is coming soon to a theater near you (actually it should be coming directly to your wardrobe)! If you haven’t already noticed, the bohemian style has remained in the fashion world and has inspired many designers season after season. Boho ruled the music-festival scene this past spring, and it will carry into the summer with designs of lace tops to layers of chiffon and threaded embroidery. They are ethereal and effortless looks for the most free-spirited Fashionista/o! Veronica Etro, in her spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, channels a perfect message of freedom with her use of light textures.

I decided to opt for a more minimalistic take on Etro’s collection. My simple embroidered tunic was a light and airy choice for a day out. I wanted to pair the dress with something that was more me rather than sticking strictly to the boho-fringe and crotchet look. I styled this ensemble with Hermès and Cartier arm candy, a Michael Kors trapeze shoulder bag and ankle strap sandals. And like on any other bright day, I donned a pair of black aluminum club-master sunnies. I managed to keep the look chic and street-trendy while still having the ease of bohemian style, that flows “anyway the wind blows.”

Even the dictionary definition of the term “bohemian” is one who wanders and lives free of regard for conventional rules. So grab the essence of boho, and as a true bohemian, make it your own.

Get My Look: 1. Embroidered dress. 2. Ankle strap sandals. 3. Club-master sunglasses.
