STYLE GURU STYLE: Bodily Organs And A Love For Science?

We all remember those annoying science fair projects where we’d have to come up with some genius science experiment and make sure we’d follow the scientific method—what a bore. There was never anything fun about making an educated guess and figuring out which one of my ice cubes would melt the fastest in a certain type of water. How was that supposed to get me a cute boy? I just remember high school being one never-ending bad lunch line and a horrible sci-fi movie. However, if high school was as cool and fun as Rachel Antonoff’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, then maybe, just maybe, life wouldn’t have seemed so cruel.

This collection took us back to an actual science fair. A place where my science experiments never made it to. The pieces made the nerdy and the typical schoolgirl look super cool. The collection embodied the science world and made it into something students might actually want to talk about and feel comfortable doing so. From printed bodily organs and nail art braces, to making you actually want to dress out for gym class, the collection truly made the uncool look cool.

I decided to vibe off the collection’s quirky and school girl attire and wore a striped top and navy pants along with my bright red penny loafers. I added a hat to elevate my look and give my ensemble a chic element, and I parted my hair into pigtails for that youthful, fun essence.

I don’t know about you, but if I could have worn some of these pieces back in high school, I could’ve possibly defeated all stereotypes and maybe led the nerd nation into being the cool kids instead.

Get My Look: 1. A striped top. 2. A pair of pants. 3. Cute penny loafers.
