STYLE GURU STYLE: Blush

On the runway, Altuzarra caught my attention to start off 2015 on a sweet note with blush-colored pieces. I loved the gingham skirt-suit. It was elegant, tasteful and risky all at the same time. It inspired me to stay true to my classic taste but also take chances and try new colors and patterns together. Blush pink is usually associated with spring; the pastel color is a way to enhance your day even on even the coldest days in a subtle way.

My go-to colors to wear are neutrals. With blush pink now being seen I will be sure to add it when wearing neutrals like black, gray or taupe. It can also be seen with many other colors too like olive green, maroon and red. Recently I have been stepping outside my comfort zone by adding bold colors to my outfits. It is amazing the difference a pop of color makes to an outfit. I am ecstatic about blush pink being seen on the runway because it is not a bold color but it is so subtle it can transform a look I also love to add accessories like a statement necklace and a handbag to complete my look.

I chose to incorporate blush pink by wearing blush pink blazer with my black and white polka-dotted Lauren Conrad short sleeve blouse with a pair of black leggings and I decided to try something new with wearing a pair of merlot colored flats. I also added a pearl and gold statement necklace and a black and gold kate spade new york handbag.
