STYLE GURU STYLE: Blast From The Past

It’s no secret that many college students who are passionate about fashion have personal style blogs. It’s trendy, that’s for sure, but it’s also a great way for college students to debut their expertise in fashion, photography and writing. So yes, I have a blog too. Admittedly, posting frequently is now a thing of the past, but every so often I’ll see a runway trend that reminds me of a past outfit and my blog is a great way to go find it. When I saw Acne Studios fall 2015 ready-to-wear runway show and the plethora of different leather boots, I was instantly reminded of a spring outfit with my favorite pair of cutout leather booties.

I chose this spring outfit because of the fun colors, light fabrics and, most of all, because of the perfect booties. The light tan color of the leather is perfect for transitioning the shoes from spring to summer and the cutouts make the boots a little less clunky for the Florida heat. The tone of the leather also works well with the light blue shade of the skater skirt. I chose a bright pink lipstick for a pop of color and added simple accessories—because an outfit is never complete without a piece of jewelry or two, after all.

Even though this outfit is only a couple of months old, it’s a great way to remember old pieces and re-imagine them for new outfits (or even to repeat an old one!). So all you fellow fashion bloggers out there (I know you’re all reading these articles like crazy…), don’t be afraid to revisit your old looks and imagine new possibilities and appreciate old styles. The possibilities are endless, and I promise not everything will be cringe worthy.

Get My Look: 1. Bright pink lipstick. 2. Brown booties. 3. Gold necklace.
