Put away those bright whites and summer pastels because black is back and is here to stay for the season. Black was one of the most predominant colors seen on the fall runways this year and I couldn’t be happier. One runway show in particular really stuck out to me and that was Valentino’s fall 2015 couture line. Gothic romance comes to mind when seeing the collection. The collection was filled with black ensembles, decorated with rich, gold necklaces and red ribbon. Fabrics consisted of velvet, leather and sheer lace. Since it was couture, the pieces were a bit eclectic, but that does not mean they cannot inspire some fabulous everyday looks.
To create my own look inspired by Valentino’s collection, I used a few of the same elements. Of course, black was the main component. To channel the collection a bit more, I made sure the outfit included sheer material. Valentino used leather flowers in his collection, which I am assuming was to bring together edginess and romance. To add some edge to my flowy and sheer romper, I spiced it up with black leather heels with zipper details. His collection was filled mainly with floor length gowns. Obviously, a floor length gown cannot be worn for many events, but a romper definitely can be! By changing a gown to a romper, this couture line can be translated into an outfit that can be dressed up or down for almost any occasion.
Get My Look: 1. A sheer black romper. 2. Some neutral earrings. 3. Stylish black heels are a must.
