STYLE GURU STYLE: Black, Gray and a Hint of Gold

I think we can all agree that this has been by far the warmest winter to date, and what a bummer it is. A winter wardrobe is always my favorite because, unlike summer, you actually get to wear clothes. From layering, to booties and warm accessories, winter is the fashion season (well, at least to me it is).

The weather here in Virginia has been warm all winter, but I’ve managed to wear some sort of winter weather related ensemble with some help from the pre-fall 2016 collection of Diesel Black Gold by Andreas Melbostad. Diesel Black Gold is known for its jeans and leather jackets, but Melbsotad wanted to “give clothes a splash of razzle-dazzle” this season. He “explained that he was thinking about the city at night, lights sparkling in the darkness and, with that in mind, he threaded materials like Lurex jacquard and metallic leather through the collection.” With that being said, throughout the collection, we see the use of appliquéd tees, sweatshirts and—drum roll, please—turtlenecks!

For my inspired outfit, I decided to go with black leather block heel ankle boots, a turtleneck crop top and shimmery high-waisted jeggings. The jeggings gave that splash of razzle-dazzle, while also implementing the leather and the city night sparkles that went into creating the runway show. It’s a comfy and easy outfit to put together.

The ensemble is perfect for those cool days where you really just don’t know what type of weather you should be dressing for. Make it a nighttime look with a deep red lip, a smokey eye and big curls.

Get My Look: 1. Black leather block heel ankle boots. 2. Turtleneck crop top. 3. High-waisted jegging.
