STYLE GURU STYLE: Black and White with Spots All Over

If you were to take a look into my closet, you would see that about 25 percent of it is made up of some form of cheetah print. I’m not talking about your typical cheetah either; I’m talking about different colors, styles and prints of cheetah, each one completely different from the other. When this coat seemed to magically appear on a rack one day while shopping, I didn’t even think twice before taking it off the rack and purchasing it. I was drawn to this coat because of its bold print. It reminded me of Diane von Furstenburg’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

Diane von Furstenburg is known for her bold prints, and in this new collection, she has incorporated more black and white patterns. Whether it is her signature wrap dress, coat or her new style of a crop top and bottom, Diane von Furstenburg designs clothes that make a statement. I feel that this coat makes a statement similar to Diane’s clothes in that it is made for the confident woman, a lady who is not afraid to be bold in her style.

When choosing what to wear with my new coat, I decided to go with an all-black simply chic ensemble. The black pant and shirt complement the black cheetah print on the coat and give the coat the chance to stand out as the focal point. I also kept true to Diane’s collection and wore strappy black heels and very minimal jewelry. I love the feeling of slipping on a pair of heels because every time I wear them I instantly feel more confident.

The spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection has inspired me to be bold in my outfit choices.  I’m ready to rock 2015 and be fierce with each ensemble, especially anything resembling cheetah.

Get My Look: 1. A statement pattern. 2. A simple black shirt. 3. A strappy heel.
