In alice + olivia’s spring 2015 collection, Stacey Bendet does not disappoint. From beautiful pantsuits to painted dresses and beaded tops, the trend that I am going to focus on is the black and white stripes. These bold striped pants look amazing paired with the intricate button chiffon shirt and the delicate beaded jacket. This collection looks as if these pieces belong at an amazing day party, but I decided to put my own twist on things.
For my outfit, I wanted to show how black and white thick stripes can be worn more casually. The main focus of the outfit is this funky boxy dress. I wondered if I could make it work because it is pretty out there and my goal was to make this runway trend more casual. To tone it down, I added basic black accessories as opposed to the model’s beaded jacket and handbag.
My outfit includes obviously my statement 100 percent cotton dress paired with black accessories. I added a big structured bag to make the look more suitable for daywear. Also, I chose to stick with the same style shoes the model was wearing but with a smaller heel to keep the same look going on. These shoes are perfect because they are slightly dressy, but have a small heel and are very reasonable to wear during the day. Lastly, these chic mirrored sunglasses are a great element to my look because they keep in mind the black and white feel I was going for while adding something fun.
Get My Look: 1. Any large structured bag. 2. Ankle strap sandals. 3. A vertical striped dress.
