STYLE GURU STYLE: Believe In The Bell Sleeve

There’s just something about a spring/summer collection parading down the runway that will always spark an extraordinary feeling. Nothing beats the charismatic color schemes and soft silhouettes that boldly define summer fashion. Every show surprises the world with fresh styles to look forward to. Recently, many different types of sleeves have become on-trend. Detached, off-the-shoulder and balloon sleeves have all made their appearances on the runways and influenced ready-to-wear fashion. Each style is unique and adds a personal touch to anyone’s look. My personal favorite is the bell sleeve. The Derek Lam spring 2016 collection is what inspired my outfit of the day. I found this show intriguing because there were many effortless silhouettes that incorporate elegant bell sleeves on pieces you really wouldn’t expect them from. The flirty, reintroduced ’70s trend brings a great amount of graceful movement on the runway and on the street.

The bell sleeve blouse I chose for this outfit is one of my favorite garments. It is classy yet relaxed at the same time. The delicate, peachy pink color is very similar to rose quartz, which is one of Pantone’s Colors of the Year for 2016. For this look I decided to pull together some classic polished pieces and mix in some bohemian elements to keep it casual. The felted hat, lace-up heels and studded suede bag add the free spirit vibes. On the other hand, the stacked bracelets and blue skinny jeans keep the look chic and feminine.

Get My Look: 1. Bell sleeve blouse; 2. Lace-up heeled sandals; 3. Black felted wool hat; 4. Studded suede handbag.
