STYLE GURU STYLE: Back to Basics

Black and white is always classic. Add stripes into the mix and you’ve got yourself a great look. Whether you are running off to class or going out to brunch with your girl, you can’t beat a classic look.

This look is inspired by Junya Watanabe’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. This collection was full of black and white looks with pops of color scattered through out. The fall 2015 collection had a lot of fun textures and a fun look featuring stripes. My favorite part of the collection would be the crazy accessories. Some of the models were dressed in full-texturized scarves, others in huge hats.

My look is made up of a high-waisted black pencil skirt and chunky sweater. I pulled inspiration from look 43, where the model was wearing a striped top and a solid black skirt. For a little bit of edge and style, I rolled up the sleeves a few times. I paired the look with my favorite black ankle boots, a necessity for the fall. I also wore my favorite watch and a pair of stud earrings to finish the look. Because the Junya Watanabe collection had looks with pops of red, I completed my look with a bright red. This look may seem a little dressed up because of the pencil skirt, but since the sweater and black ankle boots are very casual you could wear this look anywhere!

Get My Look: 1. Striped sweater. 2. Pencil skirt. 3. Black ankle boots.
