This is my last post of the summer semester! I still can’t believe summer is almost over, which means the fall school semester is coming soon. So in this post, I decided to show an easy style that works for intense school days. I call it—back to basics.
I’m so into my basics. First, simple pieces can easily be mixed and matched. Secondly, I’m not (and never will be) a morning person. I believe most of you guys are like me, so you know that getting dressed in the morning needs to be as easy as possible.
Destroyed denim is one of my favorite basics. It goes with everything, and adds a rebellious yet cool touch to any look. In the latest Diesel fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection, I spied destroyed denim in everything: jackets, overalls, shorts and jeans. Interestingly enough, Diesel used Tumblr for the model casting. Each look is customized to each person’s taste and shows different personalities.
I paired a loose gray V-neck with my simple destroyed jeans. Instead of a pair of slouchy boyfriend jeans, I went with skinny ones. A fitted pant gives me an upbeat attitude. At the same time, the loose T-shirt gives my look a right amount of laid back style. With the T-shirt tucked in, I looked casual but not sloppy.
Oversized tops paired with fitted bottoms is one of my favorite go-to looks during the week. I always have a pair of white sneakers to go with it. It gives me the ultimate clean and fresh touch.
I’m a firm believer in choosing the one perfect accessory, which is enough to lighten up a look without being too much. A bowler hat, statement earrings or a black and white tote like mine will easily do the trick.
