STYLE GURU STYLE: Back To Back

Despite the fact that black is my go-to color, I could not stop myself from drooling over the fall 2016 bridal runway shows. What can I say, I am a sucker for copious amounts of tulle and lace! However, this fall one trend become increasingly apparent when I studied these shows. The backless wedding dress is on the rise, varying in how much skin is shown, lace overlays and unexpected cutouts. Marchesa‘s 2016 bridal collection used this in many of their gowns, but presented it differently in each dress. Because I have no use for a wedding dress (besides dancing around wearing one in my bedroom) I decided to incorporate this trend into my daily wardrobe instead.

My black T-shirt is simple in the front, but has a triangle cutout in the back with a piece of fabric across the top. Depending on how low the backless section goes, the outfit can get more risqué, but by keeping it on the upper back it is tasteful enough for class and family gatherings. I particularly like this style because it is so unexpected, but it is a game changer for an entire look. I paired the shirt with dark jeans and my favorite tan booties. I tend to be more minimalistic with my clothing, so I like to spice up my outfits with bright accessories, like this Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag. Although small, it fits all the essentials and gives my otherwise boring outfit some flare!

Get My Look: 1. T-shirt or shirt with a low back or cutout. 2. A pair of skinny jeans. 3. Booties of your choice. 4. A bright bag.
