STYLE GURU STYLE: Baby, It’s Cold On Campus

Do you often feel a sharp breeze cutting against your cheeks and blowing your hair all over the place? That means fall is in full swing and winter will soon be on its way! With the cold weather slowly beginning to appear on Columbia’s campus, Chicago’s regular collegiate style is beginning to look a little more layered these days.

But that’s definitely not a bad thing! Wearing lots of layers with cute cardigans and scarves are all part of the fun. I personally love wearing big cozy sweaters layered with adorable infinity scarves. They are the essential fall to winter accessory that will keep you stylin’ and layering in a great way to explore new pairings while keeping you warm on campus.

Another essential to have during the cold days is an adorable pair of tall boots or rockin’ suede booties! I’m obsessed with my own grey Sam Edelman booties. They are so comfortable and match just about everything in my wardrobe—and that little hint of fringe? So cute!

For this look, I decided to keep it simple. I am wearing my favorite maroon sweater from H&M, layered with a long, slouchy beige cardigan. I threw on some jeans and booties, and to top off the look, I wanted to continue the color scheme with a printed scarf and some light purple eye shadow to match! Now I feel ready to take on the day whether I’m heading to class, work or going to explore Chicago.

The drop in temperature can be disheartening when picking out what to wear in the morning, but keep your confidence! Layering is an easy way to stay warm and stay stylish. You can keep it simple with some color or mix it up with funky prints and accessories—the world is at your fingertips.

Stay comfy and confident, Fashionistas!
