STYLE GURU STYLE: Aztec Attack

As fashion weeks come and go all that is left to view is the unbelievable array of pictures from each show that splatter the Internet. While browsing through Style.com a new designer caught my attention this season by incorporating everyday styles and elevating them to create high fashion trends. Apiece Apart sent models rocking boxy crop tops paired with pattered palazzo pants. The designers focused on statement pieces and mix and matching patterns. I connected with this collection because of its simplicity.

When I woke up yesterday I decided to inspire my look from Apiece Apart’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection and make it a transitional warmer weather piece. I know I always struggle with finding a jacket that is fit for the morning chill but not too overwhelmingly warm. The concentration of my look today is the shearling Aztec jacket. This is one of my favorite staple pieces in my closet. Its wool lining provides a similar feeling to your favorite blanket. The oversized look allows me to mix and match my solid interior shirt. Today, I decided to work with a white summer silk. This top falls inline with the draping of the jacket making even a baggy jacket/shirt combo look put together.

Boots are out and sneakers are back in. After all the ice has defrosted and the grass has perked up with color, I whip out all my fresh kicks. This new pair from Echo Club House has been a constant piece in many of my looks. The platform surface and color blocking appearance elevates any look. The treading on the bottom allow for a lightweight experience walking. I advise everyone to add this one to the shopping cart.

Get My Look: 1. An oversized shearling jacket, 2. Simple black leggings that are sure not to rip. 3.Must-have sneakers!
