STYLE GURU STYLE: Asymmetrical Balance

Donatella Versace did it again! The spring 2015 couture Versace show was amazing. Her show focused mainly on asymmetrical silhouettes with incredible details that made every single piece in the collection look like a remarkable piece of art. The show’s color palette included black, white, red, blue, silver and nude. As I mentioned before, the details that the garments had were stunning, and one of the details that caught my attention the most were the cut outs in the gowns. The dresses managed to look sexy without loosing that million dollar look. This collection certainly shows that you can try something new and edgy while maintaining class and sophistication.

Today I decided to draw a little inspiration from this fashion show! I decided to use mostly black and incorporate a pop of color using purple and silver. I used a black asymmetrical skirt, a purple crop top with a short black jacket. I also decided to wear black heels, a Tory Burch slouchy tote and chunky rhinestone earrings.

I was really surprised about how much I loved the asymmetrical skirt in my look, and I believe that I will be using this silhouette more in the future. This item can be easily worn day or night, making it a perfect option for your shopping list next time you go to any store. Also, I think that asymmetrical garments are usually flattering and there is a great variety from where to choose from!

Get My Look: 1. Oversized jewelry. 2. Asymmetrical dress. 3. A cropped jacket.
