STYLE GURU STYLE: Apiece Of Aqua

The Apiece Apart spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection was the epitome of resort wear. It contained flowy, minimalist pieces in chiffon and linen fabrics, comprised of bright colors. While the collection contained bright red and bubblegum pink, my favorite hue that designers Starr Hout and Laura Cramer used had to be aqua. Aqua has been one of my favorite colors ever since I was a little girl, and I continue to sport the color today.

Last week, I wore a flowy aqua tunic that was appropriate for springtime, but styled it with different layers to combat the chilly winds.

My tunic, purchased on the streets of Rome, is comfy and stylish. Its asymmetrical nature gives off a nonchalant bohemian vibe. I paired it with my favorite go-to pieces: black leggings and a leather jacket. This combination is not only practical, but also very comfortable.

I am never one to sport just solid colors, so of course I had to add a printed circle scarf to my look. Its colorful floral print helped tie together the aqua and black color palette.

To polish off my look, I wore one of my favorite pairs of boots: my Jeffrey Campbell harness boots. Not only did they add uniqueness, but they also helped define the multi-seasonal vibe that I wanted to achieve.

The final element of my outfit was my black floppy hat. In my opinion, it is what ultimately transformed the look from effortless to effortlessly chic.

Overall, I achieved a vibe that was somewhat feminine, yet different and edgy, without being overly crazy.

Get My Look: 1. A bohemian tunic. 2. A printed circle scarf. 3. A floppy hat.
