STYLE GURU STYLE: All Wrapped Up

I am a sucker for a good choker. It’s crazy how fast this trend came back from the ;90s and boy am I glad it did. If there’s one accessory that I think adds an edgy twist, it’s the choker. Not only is it great on its own, it’s also fun to layer with!

My personal style is pretty simple, but I love to go crazy with the accessories. I usually opt for a neutral base outfit, like a pair of black skinny jeans and a plain white T-shirt. To add personal touches, I add in gold accessories, a pair of dope sneakers and usually a fun pair of sunglasses.

Today, I opted for a different-then-my-usual outfit in that there’s color. I’m the kind of gal that likes blacks, grays and whites so it’s less likely to see some color. I decided to step out of my comfort zone a bit and pair my black skinny jeans with an off-the-shoulder, rosy-orange, crop-top. Although it is fall, Southern California sure doesn’t feel like so I’m not worried about being chilly. I paired this outfit with my favorite, white sandals that make any outfit a little more fun.

For the accessories, I layered on some chokers of all sizes. I tied my La Havane choker and added a few of my favorite gold necklaces. Tip: adjust any necklace to the tightest clasp to give you a faux-choker feel! I also threw on my go-to gold bracelets and rings to complete the look.

I love outfits that are easy but look great. Next time you’re looking spice up your outfit, just add layers of necklaces to your look!
