A stylish jacket, a unique skirt and a pair of booties are a must have in my closet. When finding an outfit, try to create one with different types of fabric. Let it be fun! Even if the outfit has mainly dark shades, It can definitely be stylish and classy. Don’t get me wrong, I love having colorful and fun outfits, but a black outfit is classy statement in any wardrobe.
Leather and tweed took over the Chanel Métiers d’art, pre-fall 2016 fashion show in Rome, Italy. The entire collection had a dark, edgy and sophisticated look. I chose an outfit similar to one that would have been seen strutting down the runway. I was inspired by the empowering amount of leather, the dark shades in the various tweeds but most importantly the elegantly modern feel.
Having a jacket that can be recycled again in your wardrobe is a good investment. A leather jacket can be paired with almost any skirt and make a statement. It can also make a simple, casual outfit more stylish and ready for business.
My outfit includes a gray, crop top paired with a black, pleated skirt. To add to this look, I wore a leather jacket containing elements of tweed, a wool hat, black tights and black booties. I added some color to this look with NARS velvet matte lip pencil. This simple detail adds a nice pop of red!
Black never goes out of style! As Coco Chanel once said, “I imposed black; it still going strong today, for black wipes out everything else around.”
