STYLE GURU STYLE: All Tied Up

From chokers, to skinny scarves and bandanas; everyone has been accessorizing their neck this season. I don’t think I’ve stepped out of the house without one of these adding the finishing touch to my outfit. Accessories are truly key to making an outfit just the right amount of trendy and stylish at the same time. With the Sacai spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection we see the bandana trend mixed into delicate fabrics and fun patterns. Chitose Abe, the designer behind Sacai, prides herself in mixing unique fabrics and unexpected shapes. She stays true to her Japanese culture through her designs.

In the summer, my go-to look is a vintage T-shirt and denim cut-off shorts. These pieces pair perfectly together and are in all of our closets. I like to change up this look simply with accessories. Here I opted for a silver bra chain to sport under my tank top. I love the way body chains look because they are unexpected compared to the usual necklace, bracelet or earrings. If you have a few cool jewelry pieces in your collection, you always have the ability to instantly elevate any look.

If you are looking for a bandana be sure to check out your local thrift store. Rather than paying eight dollars for one that everyone else has, you can find a unique one for a dollar instead. I love how the one I’m wearing has red roses printed over the classic banana print; a pattern you rarely see at fast fashion chains.
