STYLE GURU STYLE: All Maxed Out

With summer solstice in our rearview mirror, summer has officially began. In Texas all that means is hotter days and warmer nights. Now I like to imagine I’m somewhere tropical, which isn’t exactly the case but if it was I’d be in the beautiful city of São Paulo.

Todays outfit was inspired by none other than Paula Raias’ São Paulo spring 2015 collection that includes sleek, modern designs radiantly in white. Raia’s being relatively new (founded in 2010), is a hit among boutiques in Brazil.

I tired to channel my inner Paula Raia, minus the couture feel in this simple ensemble. Keeping to the white color scheme, I have a white chiffon maxi top with slits up the side with a halter style laser cut arm thats both easy to move in and comfortable. This futuristic design gives you a very elegant look even though it’s just a shirt. For all my short ladies be sure to pair this top with heels or create a cute little knot that way your white top isn’t dragging on the floor.

Now shorts would have been my first option for bottoms but I couldn’t resist the soft angelic-like look these light wash American Apparel Easy Jeans gave. With such a long top, it was almost a no-brainer to pair it with some high-waisted skinny jeans to give you that “Kylie Jenner on Easter” look. You could easily be confused for a Kardashian/Jenner in this outfit.

I went a little light on the accessories going with a gold and blue statement necklace from Forever 21 and my two James Avery rings that I refuse to take off. With or without the necklace the outfit would still work but I chose to stand out a little more. My favorite neutral colored chunky heel sweetens the deal and keeps my top from dragging. Fashionable and functional.
