STYLE GURU STYLE: All About The Shoulders

Spring is in full bloom!  All the southern bells have switched over to pastel polish and brought out those sun hats. It is time to bring out the sundresses and sandals. Go ahead and schedule a pedicure. The one item that will be on repeat in my spring look book is the color cream and the off-the-shoulder blouse. It’s classy and effortless, and it’s too hot to think about layers.

For this particular look, I was inspired by the Balenciaga spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. This collection showcases chic sophistication at its best. The collection can be described as mixing silk, lace, and other components to deliver simplistic beauty. Perfect for class and events.

This collection caught my attention, as I love chic fashion and the sophisticated vibe associated with the style. Inspired by one of the looks, I paired my cream-colored off-the shoulder top and pointy toe flats to achieve a like-minded outfit. The black ponte legging allowed me spin the inspiration into my own. The one accessory I utilized was a gold choker. Because my top was my center piece, I wanted a minimal look. The way the gold and cream complement my skin tone is essential with the combo I am giving.

The Balenciaga collection reminds me that simplicity is key. An outfit does not always have to be all designs and color to make a statement. Experiment with an off-the-shoulder top that announces spring. Add your own touch that screams you. Who said spring had to be all color? The flowy trend is a great way to spring into the southern humidity. If you plan on being chic all spring, head on over to Vogue and view the collection.
