STYLE GURU STYLE: All About The Bloom

Rebellious, dramatic and daring with a touch of feminism is how I describe the Saint Laurent spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection by Hedi Slimane. I’m obsessed with leather and floral prints, so without a doubt I decided to draw inspiration from this electrifying show. Saint Laurent also known as, “YSL,” is the brand to turn to for glam-rock style inspiration.

The spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection included fifty five bold, eclectic looks…all very wearable. It featured several leather-based ensembles, most of which were partnered with colored prints. I used the two elements of leather and prints from the show to construct my outfit. To my surprise, it was simple to recreate my look since the collection included pieces I could easily pick out from my own wardrobe.

I love all things high-waisted which is why I couldn’t resist an A-line black leather skirt. I then styled the skirt with a lurid, floral top to stay true to the girly aspect of the collection. To add my personal touch, I wore my favorite chambray button-down tied around my waist. I can’t leave the house without a necklace or handbag so I accessorized my look with a silver statement necklace and black satchel with zipper detailing. Then to add some drama, I rocked black over-the-knee boots with gold metal details.

This look is a twist on the typical soft, spring ensemble. It goes to show you can wear floral prints and still embody a bold rock ‘n’ roll style. With this outfit I feel unapologetically edgy and fearlessly feminine!

Get My Look: 1. Floral printed top. 2. A-Line leather skirt. 3. Over-the-knee boots.
