STYLE GURU STYLE: All About That Lace

It is that time of year again and by now almost everyone is back in full swing with classes, homework, and clubs. Attending a university in the Midwest can be very annoying: one day you will walk to class sweating uncontrollably and another day you will wish you brought a sweater. For me, I have always been raised to pick out my outfit and then add a sweater so that’s exactly what I did.

My inspiration came from Badgley Mischka’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show. I loved the way they made simple outfits and pieces simple yet, up close, they were so detailed and intricate. Badgley Mischka always pulls through new looks with extraordinary and gorgeous detailing. My outfit is obviously much more casual for the environment that I am wearing it in, so I pulled some more inspiration from the J.Crew fall 2015 ready-to-wear show also.

Whenever I’m browsing around in my favorite stores, whether it’s Free People, Nordstrom, lululemon, Urban Outfitters, or Anthropologie, I am always looking for details.  When I was choosing my outfit, I immediately went for my Free People tank top with the lace detailing. I paired this top with my favorite pair of high-waisted shorts and my classic halter bandeau that I rarely leave the house (or in my case, dorm) without. For shoes I wanted to add even more detailing, so I chose my Free People lace-up sandals that I am a little bit too obsessed with. These shoes are great to spice up any simple outfit. Finally I added a couple rings and, as always, my favorite sunglasses.

Get My Look: 1. Tank Top. 2. Shorts. 3. Shoes.
