With Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week going on now, excitement and inspiration is in the air all around us. The recent shows I have streamed live have left me at a loss for words and ready for fall 2015 releases. Can I really be expected to wait for fall?
In Alexander Wang’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear line, he gave his customers precisely what they wanted: all-black. What was readily apparent was that his styling inspiration was from people who wear black as a daily part of their lives, yet he made sure that his line was not too one-dimensional. He managed to keep you on your toes looking for more. My chic, all-black ensemble draws inspiration from Alexander Wang’s desire to please and motivate sophisticated buyers in today’s marketplace.
Here I put my spin on Alexander Wang’s all-black look. Drawing inspiration and creativity from his new line while making it possible to wear the outfit in an everyday setting was my goal. I kept it simple, with some stylish moto black high-waisted jeans, which add some grunge to the outfit. I paired them with a long sleeve pocket T-shirt from American Apparel. With the base of the outfit in place, I decided to add some other neutrals to the mix. I added a two-toned leather black and tan vest and then a pair of chestnut Sam Edelman leather heeled booties. The leather vest adds an edge, just like pieces on the runway in the Alexander Wang collection.
Wang’s collection can be used to inspire ensembles worn by any Fashionista. It is perfect for when you want to grab your favorite pair of high-waisted jeans or your go-to black oversized tunic with an edgy printed jacket. You can even add some accessories like I did here with some gold rings. Accessories always add a nice touch to an all-black outfit.
