STYLE GURU STYLE: Add Some Flare To Your Look

Summer is right around the corner! If you live in a rather warm climate, the last thing you’d want to wear is jeans, right? Wrong. You can totally rock denim in this hot summer weather. You guessed it—flare jeans are a major trend right now, and they’re back!

Denim has been finding its way back onto the runway, just as you can see here from the Roberto Cavalli fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. This collection is most definitely inspired by the ‘70s rock ‘n’ roll era, with details such as high-waisted bell bottom jeans and neck scarves. It brings out the inner rocker chic that isn’t afraid to rock some velvet, fur, corduroy pants and funky designs. Nowadays, we’re constantly being inspired by the past decades, the ‘70s being one of the inspirations for the collection. The ‘70s look isn’t for everyone, and that’s fine! Although, Fashionistas can still rock the flare jean trend! Skinny jeans have been the “it” jeans for a long time now. It’s time to put them to rest and bring out their edgier sister.

Wearing skin tight jeans during these hot months doesn’t seem practical for everyone, so opting out for some looser flare jeans is what I did with this look. I’ve been hooked on this trend because it’s so easy to dress up or dress down for a casual look. I paired my flare jeans with a burgundy crop top and Converse sneakers for a simple look. Since it’s summer, a crop top is the perfect way to look cute, but also stay cool in the hot summer months. My flare jeans are low-rise, but high-waist flare jeans would also be perfect for this look! Especially for petite girls out there (myself included)! High-waisted flare jeans really give the illusion of longer legs, especially paired with some chunky heels. Lastly, I paired this casual outfit with a simple, black Michael Kors cross-body bag to give it a dressier and classier appearance.

As for accessories, I wore some dainty jewelry pieces that I personally loved, such as a simple necklace and a few rings. Also, I left my hair in a high pony tail to emphasize the casual look. With that, I wore hoop earrings because big earrings made the look more girly and fun!

There might be some hesitation to wear flare jeans considering that skinny jeans were all the rage, but there’s no need for that! This summer is perfect for experimenting with them, either being casual or dressy. They’re all the rage right now, and there are so many chic street style looks that can be created.
