STYLE GURU STYLE: A Plethora Of Plaid

In the latest Madewell fall 2015 ready-to-wear fashion show, plaid was everywhere. Madewell has become extremely popular lately. Something that is not known by everyone is that J.Crew owns Madewell. Both of the brands have a similar look. In my opinion, J.Crew’s clothing has more of the professional feel and is more for those who are going to work rather than going out with friends. On the other hand, Madewell’s clothes are more likely to be seen on someone who is going on a shopping spree or out to lunch. Madewell has more of a casual feel. However, the clothing from these companies are very versatile; it all depends on what pieces you pair together.

Madewell’s line carries a lot of slouchy, easy-to-wear pieces. The majority of the clothing is boyish, meaning that there is nothing that is really formfitting and or structured. In order to show off your shape in these types of clothes, you need to either wear a formfitting piece on the top or bottom.

The fall 2015 ready-to-wear Madewell fashion show was one to remember. There was some plaid, plaid and some more plaid. Plaid was incorporated into each outfit in one way or another. The plaid showed up in the scarves, jumpsuits, sweaters, flannels and many other pieces. Some of the outfits were a combination of a variety of different textures, colors and patterns.

I went with an all-black outfit with the addition of some plaid. An oversized, plaid flannel is the perfect addition to any outfit. I decided to keep it safe by wearing all solid colors rather than wearing another pattern with the flannel. I also had fun pulling different colors from the flannel and displaying those colors in my belt, shoes and necklace.

Get My Look: 1. An oversized flannel 2. An oversized T-shirt 3. Any type of necklace.
