STYLE GURU STYLE: A Little Bit Of Everything

With the summer sadly coming to an end and fall semester just around the corner, I don’t know what to do. I am heading off for a week of fun with the family and on my return is the start of a new semester. I however, am not quite ready to see another summer to come to its tragic end. My wardrobe isn’t quite ready either, although I am slowly starting to transition by looking to the Miu Miu fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection for some guidance. I liked what I was seeing because it’s like an art form. Mixing and matching as many textures and patterns as one can handle to create this masterpiece of mishmash.

Mishmash is key to this trend and I like to play with strange combinations. Here for example, I wanted to wear a summery floral dress. Because, I am a conservative dresser and am not one to expose my legs on a daily basis (ergo my ghostly white legs), I tend to wear pants. For this look I wanted to wear my navy blue polka-dotted cigarette pants. These pants are extremely comfortable and the velvet appliqué adds a fun and unexpected texture. When dressing I felt like I needed to balance my look out on top and I had the perfect thing in mind. This sweater is one of my favorite thrift store finds and although far away this sweater is nothing special, up close and personal it is a true treasure. Well, at least is it to me. The effect is charming, clever and a bit cheeky. I had a lot of fun playing around with this trend and will definitely continue with it well into the new season.

Get My Look: 1. Floral sundress. 2. Cigarette pants. 3. Patterned sweater.
