When wide brimmed hats recently became a fashion staple, I was all over that. It’s the perfect accessory to add with a simple pair of jeans, a nice fall vest and a long sleeve shirt to pair with the vest. This is my go-to outfit for any casual fall day combining comfortable and chic. Don’t get me wrong, I love to get dressed up in a dress or a skirt with a pair of heels. I just love a pair of jeans even more.
I was heavily influenced by the MaxMara Atelier fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection; I drew inspiration from the neutral colors and fur accents, which is the basis of what was showcased in this collection. The color pallet of navy, black and other neutral colors are similar to the neutral colors I incorporated into this look. Aside from MaxMara Atelier, inspiration came from Madewell’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. Madewell’s extensive use of denim and their more classic style are exemplified in this look.
Comfort is always a key component in my wardrobe and this outfit is exactly that. It consists of pieces that create a high fashion look with fur and neutral colors, but is more comfortable with the addition of denim. In order to accomplish a high fashion look that’s comfortable for everyday, I mixed up my accessories to tie it all together. The bracelets and necklace all take this look up a notch and add color to make a bold statement that the neutral colors were missing.
My outfit consists of a black long sleeved shirt with a pair of American Eagle Outfitters classic denim jeans. This look is extenuated by a fur vest, wide brimmed wool hat and suede booties to tie the look all together. In order to break up all the neutral colors in this look, I added a gold necklace with a colorful gemstone to add color.
Jeans and comfortable attire will always be stylish to any Fashionistas/os, but the wide brimmed hat just might be down the road. For now, I’ll be embracing my favorite accessory until I can’t anymore. I could never say no to a cute hat that could make any bad hair day a better one.
