STYLE GURU BIO: Zalena Zayas

Hello to those who are reading! I’m Zalena and I’m currently a student at the University of South Florida. Although I’m not majoring in fashion or anywhere near it, fashion is definitely a passion I have a real fire for. Whenever that time of the year hits for New York Fashion week or Paris Fashion week, I am constantly stalking all my favorite designers online through social media. Once I see what’s new on the runways, I learn to incorporate those ideas that really sparked my interest into what I already have in my closet or new pieces I can get my hands on. Being born and raised in Chicago, I have been able to experience all four seasons, which has allowed me to push myself style-wise. Fast forward to me moving to the sunny state of Florida where it is hardly ever anything but summer, I had to push myself to fit comfortably in the warmer weather conditions out there. This summer I’m excited to be back in my hometown and working with CollegeFashionista. I know I’m going to interact and learn from some real incredible people. I can’t wait to see what inspiration people get from my style and what I choose to share.

As for what I’m wearing, being that I’m currently in Chicago and the weather hasn’t exactly gotten the hint that it’s summer, it’s been sunny with a nice breeze. So I kept my accessories simple with a few Alex and Ani bracelets, my Apple Watch and one of my favorite teams on my baseball cap. You’ll always catch me in these black Lecrew flats by Steven Madden. They are probably the comfiest shoes I own and they look like pointy ballerina slippers, so what’s not to love? Along with my favorite flats, I have this black bomber jacket from Zara paired underneath with this text top from Zara as well. To finish this look, I added my 710 super skinny jeans by Levi, making this outfit 100 percent casual, comfy and style proof.

I hope everyone has an amazing summer whether you’re taking classes or not and just enjoy it! And if you like this mini bio of me please be sure to give me a RAD.
