I am thrilled to be back as a Style Guru for fall 2013 and can already tell that this is going to be a great semester for fashion at Belmont University.
I have lived my whole life in Nashville and can easily say I have enjoyed all 20 years of it. My home has been my inspiration for just about everything, even fashion. So it is safe to say that fashion has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it was playing dress up with my mom’s old bridesmaids dresses or shopping at crazy vintage stores in town, I have always loved to play with fashion. Since coming to Belmont, I have especially taken interest in finding a more unique style. My love for thrifting has taken me to stores all over town for unique finds to add to my wardrobe. Some of my favorite stores are so close to campus that I can’t help but stop in after class. My favorite store is Local Honey, a vintage store across from campus that holds amazing finds.
We are always told that college is at time to really find out who we really are. And I think that finding a personal style definitely can be included in that. I have a tendency to find one item that I am particularly lusting over, and seek it out for months. Some of my current obsessions are bomber jackets, jellies, sunflower print and polarized sunglasses. I have been lusting over this NASTY GAL bomber for months and have not been able to take off my Juju Jellies since I got them. They come in tons of colors and are probably the most versatile sandal I own. As far as printed shirts go, I have found almost all of the ones in my closet at Goodwill. Printed button-downs are a perfect summer to fall staple and can be found in trending prints at just about any thrift store. This butterfly print one from ASOS is the perfect transition piece.
A new year means a chance to start fresh and try out new trends. I cannot wait to share all of the campus fall trends from Belmont with all of you guys!
