Greetings fellow Fashionista’s and Fashionisto’s! My name is Whitney Farber, and I am beyond excited to be a part of this amazing community for the summer! I just finished my first year at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I am currently majoring in Marketing and obtaining a minor in Fashion Merchandising. Whether on campus or at home, I always catch myself being in awe of someone with a killer outfit. That is why I was so glad when I discovered CollegeFashionista about a year and a half ago, and it is truly a dream come true to now be a Style Guru!
I have always had a deep love for fashion ever since I was little. My mom always tells the story of when she found me in my basement “designing my own American Girl doll clothing line.” This consisted of cutting up and drawing on all of my American Girl doll’s clothes. This fashion-loving trend continued into middle and high school when I lived vicariously through Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port’s Teen Vogue adventures on The Hills. Although I have retired my designing techniques and am now an avid Pinterest pinner and YouTube addict — that’s where I get most of my fashion inspiration today. Besides interning for CollegeFashionista this summer you can find me shopping (go figure), working out and working at T.J. Maxx (that’s right, I am a Maxxinista.)
My favorite fashion saying has to be “Stressed, but well-dressed.” I think this is the epitome of college student fashion. Our brains may be exploding and we may have a million things to cross off on our to-do list, but if you look good you feel good…well, at least that’s what they say right?! I would be lying to you if I told you I looked fashionable or even semi-awake going to class during the school year or running early morning errands in the summer, but I truly believe life is all about balance and fashion is just the same. As for my personal style, I would say for the most part my style is feminine/classic with a little bit of edge. I love adding a hint of edge to an otherwise plain outfit.
This summer I will be spending most of my time in Akron, Ohio. I will however be visiting multiple cities in California for the majority of June. I can’t wait to incorporate aspects of my journey into my posts. I will be writing for AROUND TOWN every Wednesday and I am excited to show the fashion happenings in my area of the Midwest. (Yes, there is more to Ohio than horrible weather and farm fields.) I am ecstatic to bring you guys along with me and I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I enjoy writing them!
