Welcome back, Fashionistas! I’m sure everyone is excited to be back on campus and ready to show off their favorite fall fashions! My name is Victoria Tesone and I am a sophomore at Lafayette College pursuing a double major in Government and Law and Creative Writing. This semester, I will be writing to you from some of my favorite campus hangouts and sharing some of my favorite fall must-haves. I don’t know about you but, I am definitely ready to ditch those summer sundresses and am ready to break out my favorite sweater weather wear.

I love bold looks and I’m always the first to go out on a limb and try that outrageous new trend: fingerless Patricia Field leather gloves, I’m talking about you.  This season I have decided to tackle the denim on denim look – the perfect transition from warm to cool weather pairing.

Good news, if you’ve still got your summer tan, the denim mini skirt has made a comeback! Today, I’m sporting a mid-rise destroyed denim mini, in medium wash, courtesy of Express, along with their denim boyfriend shirt, in dark wash. An important thing to remember when recreating this look is to find denim that is similar in wash but not exactly matching, you want to add dimension to an otherwise dimensionless outfit. I broke up the denim pieces with an interesting J.Crew double belt and an updated version of a Western style bootie. These booties are a great piece to have in your closet; they can dress up any outfit but are still casual. If you’re not into the denim mini look, pair them with your favorite pair of skinny jeans for the same effect.

To complete my outfit, I accessorized with classic silver Ippolita bangles, and a thin handcrafted Turkish bracelet. For those of you who don’t have a roommate kind enough to bring you back amazing jewelry from her summer travels, try this gold clover bracelet from Etsy!

The year has just begun, and there’s so much to do and so many styles to wear—let’s get started!
