I’m Victoria Strong, a New Yorker whisked away to Savannah, Georgia to study Fashion Marketing and Management at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and now a junior. After the traditional childhood dreams of becoming a gymnast or a vet when I was young, I knew I belonged in fashion. Before college, I took pre-college classes several times at FIT in NYC. Being a traveler at heart, I had to go somewhere new for school already somewhat having my taste of learning in the city. Savannah is a beautiful inspiring place and I could not have chosen a better city to be in for school. Since being at SCAD, I have interned at Marc by Marc Jacobs in the summer of 2013 for the Production and Development team for MMJ jewelry and fashion accessories, briefly at Oscar de la Renta winter 2013 for the Lifestyle Brand Merchandising team and now as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!
My style can be described as eclectic since it’s always changing depending on my mood. I have tons of black and white clothing, but also a bunch of printed pieces. The combination of them can create something chic, girly, boho or anything I want them to be. I believe accessories can truly complete an outfit from jewelry to the right bag. I’m a huge fan of layers even in jewelry, which is obvious in the picture since I’m wearing two necklaces and a wrist full of bracelets. I guess I’m an accessories addict because I’m always looking at the details in things. I love having the four different seasons in New York, and being in Savannah, I still get them. My style is always changing. My heart always want to be somewhere new, and I’m constantly looking forward to the next season for new styles and layers.
Aside from the slight obsession with fashion, I’m a major book nerd with some of my favorites being White Girl Problems, Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter (even my book selection is all over the place). I have traveled around the U.S. when I was seven with my grandparents, and have went abroad with teen travel groups and my school several times. I highly believe that everyone should travel whenever and wherever they can.
This is my first time with CollegeFashionista and I cannot wait to show you all the unique accessories I find in Savannah writing for the ACCESSORIES REPORT column!
