I’m a second year Computer Engineering student but will be switching to Design next fall at the University of California, Davis. Davis is a small college town, but I enjoy the variety of weather and living close to my hometown of Sacramento.
The best thing about living in Davis is having seasons. We have hot summers where we can wear cute sundresses and pull out our high-waist shorts, but we also get cold winters where we can bundle up in layers, which is one of my favorite things to do! After going to college for a year and a half, I found that my true passion lies fashion and will be diving into the world of fashion and design. I am very excited for this opportunity to be writing for College Fashionista and I’m looking forward to hearing from readers!
I’m from Sacramento and I love visiting San Francisco. I’m a talker and a blogger. One of my favorite things to do is go to thrift shops, buy a bunch of old vintage pieces and fix them up. I’m obsessed with lace and baroque pieces, and I always scavenge the Thrift Town in Sacramento and San Francisco. It amazes me at what people give away. One time I bought a real Fendi satchel for $4 as well as a Coach satchel and multiple Dooney & Bourke purses. It’s crazy what you can find. It just takes a little patience.
This fall and winter season, I was obsessed with all different boots. My favorites this fall were lace-up mid-calf combat boots and feminine knee-high boots. I switched between these two styles of boots depending on if I was going for a grungy tomboy look or a softer girlier look. My favorite brand is Steve Madden, but I also shop at Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters and Macy’s for boots.
A lot of my fashion inspiration comes from the my two favorite TV shows: Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl, as well as the magazines I read. I really like the styles of Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester’s character on Gossip Girl), Hanna from Pretty Little Liars and Audrey Hepburn. I’ve recently started re-reading all my old editions of Teen Vogue, Seventeen, Glamour, and InStyle and becoming inspired by fashion journalists and old trends. I would like to intern and hopefully work for a magazine like Teen Vogue, and eventually pursue a career in fashion marketing or public relations. Thanks for reading and keep an eye out for my Fashionista/o Spotlight posts every Wednesday!
