STYLE GURU BIO: Veronica Garcia

One year anniversaries are always a nice milestone, but this particular one seems to be a bit extra special. This semester marks one year of me being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! On top of that, it marks the beginning of my senior year at James Madison University. I can’t believe how much I’ve grown in the past few years, both educationally and style wise, but I know I’m nowhere near done.

If you’ve been following along since the beginning of my time with CollegeFashionista, thank you for sticking around. You may remember last fall semester I challenged myself to capture at least one Fashionisto. Unfortunately, you may also remember that I failed to do so, but thankfully I redeemed myself during the spring semester. This fall I hope to, once again, capture at least one Fashionisto. I also look forward to seeing if and/or how freshmen will impact the style seen around campus.

Throughout this past year, I have noticed a growth in Fashionistas and Fashionistos alike. Seeing other people rock their best looks for class has inspired me to try new trends and caused my style to evolve. I like to think I’ve developed a good mix between dressing smart and casual, and this particular look shows the mix. The black jumpsuit, which is off the shoulder, easily turns into a pair of culottes when I layer anything over it. The denim button-up instantly takes the jumpsuit from dressy to cool and the black slip-ons add a casual-day-look vibe.

I look forward to continuing to share mine and my peers’ style with you all. Hopefully you stick around as I have big plans for this year and, lets not forget, I still have Fashionistas(os) to find strutting their best around campus.
