STYLE GURU BIO: Veronica Budzinski

Hi babes! I’m Veronica and I’m wicked excited to be interning with CollegeFashionista for my first semester as a Style Guru! A little about me: happy-go-lucky girl who loves all things having to do with traveling, laughing, and chasing sunsets. Lucky for me, the three go together like cookies and milk. I’m from a small city in New Hampshire that is located right outside Boston—the city that holds my heart. I’m grateful to be attending Penn State University, pursuing a degree in public relations. I spend my days dreaming of cute cafes, black denim, and following my bliss while trying to inspire others to do the same.

Letting go of judgments and allowing myself to follow my happiness was a long journey but through it all, fashion is what inspired me to be myself. The way a killer outfit could bring up my mood or give me confidence was enough to inspire me to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Fashion has taught me the importance of self-love, and that pleasing everyone around me is exhausting and most of the time, unfulfilling. Life is about feeling good and having that goodness show through a smile and a perfect shoe and jacket pairing.

I love the way fashion is ever-changing and never ending. I pull a lot of my inspiration from my mom’s chic ’90s style and the world around me. I’ve been lucky to travel near and far and it’s taught me to make the most of every single moment because the good days end just as quickly as the bad ones, so you might as well be wearing a cute outfit. Life, just like fashion, has no rules. There’s no handbook and there’s certainly no doing it wrong. What matters is to stay kind, find the sunshine, and learn to love yourself in the process. It’ll get you far, darlings.

As for my outfit, it’s nothing too exciting. A lot of the times, I think the way you walk in an outfit can do it all. I’m wearing some black tights underneath my favorite pair of ripped boyfriend jeans. Layering the tights with the jeans is an awesome way to transition fall fashion into the brutal winters. My shoes belonged to my mom in the ’90s (score!) and the hat played off the colors in the textured sweater and plaid scarf to create a complete look. Today, my outfit was about comfort and warmth. Maybe tomorrow it’ll be about trend and perhaps the next day it’ll be about patterns. Whatever it is, I’m just as excited to find out as you are.

Can’t wait to embark on this adventure!
