STYLE GURU BIO: Valerie Gonzalez-Vega

Slumping into the wobbly oblong table at my favorite coffee shop. I embarked on my senior year at Texas State; a bittersweet feeling fills the air and settles heavy at the bottom of my heart—like the chocolate flakes of the dirty chai across me. This is the final chapter to my time at CollegeFashionista; I hope to close the chapter with many more friendships, killer fashion muses and (fingers crossed) possibly getting featured with the amazing CF gang. CollegeFashionista has truly made the college experience somewhat amazing. More than anything, I was able to find my voice as a writer and truly find where my place in the fashion industry.

During the last four semesters, I’ve definitely seen my style refine from what some of my friends proclaim as teacher-chic (thanks, Marlen!) You’ll typically spot me wearing a sundress or my staple tennis skirt and a striped blouse. My inspiration does not derive those of a vicarious reader of fashion prints. I look for inspiration in films; countless hours of searching for the perfect ensemble in Goddard reels. My current style muses are Isabel Marant, Kirsten Dunst and Nicole Richie. Keep up with me via social media, I’d love to get to know each and everyone of you and be sure to check-in every Friday for a look into state style.
