My name is Valeria Vargas Caro and I attend Florida State University. I am a Media and Communication Studies student, minoring in Hispanic Marketing Communications. I am definitely thrilled to be writing my first ever STYLE GURU BIO for CollegeFashionista, and I feel quite privileged to be able to bring the fashion at FSU to life. I will be writing and photographing Fashionista/os for the ACCESSORIES REPORT and FASHION FROM ABROAD feature every Friday.
Fashion has always been an essential part of my life and who I am as an individual. I feel that you can express yourself in so many ways through the fashion you wear and the way that you choose to be perceived through your personal style. The way I dress is a process of constant evolution; I am always trying to improve, as well as draw inspiration from my past and present. Recently, I have taken a liking to the street fashion of London, where I lived while studying abroad.
Like I stated, my style is ever-changing and is forever subject to change. I like to incorporate my love of fashion and my sense of wanderlust into my wardrobe, and try to piece together a style that looks minimal but also chic and functional. I tend to side more with neutral colors, whilst using statement pieces to make the outfit really pop and come together. I can never resist investing on a good sale item, and I believe that there is major styling power held in accessories, for they can make a huge difference on your overall look. Generally speaking, head to toe black is my go-to look for any time of year.
On a typical day you can most likely find me my AllSaints Spitalfields Pitch Jacket, Ray-Ban Aviators and black leather ankle boots. I am obsessed with my yellow fluoro from the Cambridge Satchel Company, and as of recently I have been wearing my silver Movado Chronograph watch as my daily timepiece.
Overall, I am really looking forward to entering the New Year full of inspiration and prospects for what types of fashion and style can be found on the Florida State campus. I am elated to be interviewing the many stylish people in Tallahassee, as well as to showcase my posts on CollegeFashionista. I am very excited to have everyone see who and what inspires me.
