Hi, I’m TW Baker, one of your summer Style Gurus! Even though I go to school at Loyola University Chicago, I will reporting on my men’s fashion finds at home in Tampa, Florida. At school in Chicago, I’m a rising sophomore studying Fine Art, specifically drawing and painting and I’m starting to take classes in advertising and public relations.
Personal style changes over time and mine is no different. Originally from a small town in Virginia, then moving to Florida and now going to school in Chicago, I have many influences in my wardrobe. Overall, I try to blend preppy looks with urban ones all while trying to incorporate up-to-date trends.
With Tampa reaching over 100 degrees over the summer on its hottest days, sometimes the weather prevails in the battle between looking good and surviving the heat. This summer I’m going to work harder to dress just as well as I did during the school year. I’ll be writing about other Tampa guys who do the same!
Spring and summer clothes are always great because you get to shed some layers and experiment with brighter colors and prints, all while getting a tan! This summer, some of my men’s fashion staples include white pants and shorts and floral printed tops in a muted pastel color palette. With movies like The Great Gatsby out this summer and brands like Brooks Brothers advertising light and breezy suits, it’s a great time for men to capitalize on new summer fashions and start dressing just as dashing at Jay Gatsby himself.
Look out for some great fashion finds that any guy could add to his summer wardrobe from a variety of sources. I love seeing what great items people find from outlet malls, thrift shops and online. I hope you’ve gotten a little more insight as to who I am as a person and fashion lover. I look forward to sharing my fashion discoveries with you!
