STYLE GURU BIO: Tiffany Liao

Hello fellow internet friends! I am Tiffany Liao, a sophomore in University of California, Santa Cruz studying Psychology. To those who are unfamiliar with me, this is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. Last semester, I was fortunate enough to report on the various fashion trends going on in our beautiful redwood campus. I am so delighted and excited to discover more interesting trends this coming semester. Come join me on a journey of exploring college fashion!

I’ve always been interested in fashion, but I was often too afraid to try out different styles. CollegeFashionista allowed me to experiment with different fashion trends. Through reporting UCSC’s Fashionistas and Fashionistos, I’ve discovered so many new ways of incorporating current fashion trends into my own style. I learned to let go of all the worries and embraced my true personality through exploring fashion. As a third culture kid, I was fortunate enough to live in Shanghai, China for ten years prior to returning back to sunny California. Growing up, I was exposed to Asian, American and European magazines. The modern chic ladies in Shanghai and the laid-back boho girls in California inspire my style. I like to describe my style as simple modernist with a twist of boho chic.

As a busy college student, I don’t have much time in the morning to get ready. So, I like to layer on basic fashion pieces that are comfortable and easy to style with. My wardrobe staples consist of oversized plain white T-shirts, black skinny jeans and chunky heels. The same basic items can be styled in so many different ways for various effects on your style. If you’re interested in simple and comfortable outfits, please stay tuned for my articles every Wednesday!
