STYLE GURU BIO: Tess Cvikota

Well hello there, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Tess and I am a California native living in the city of Chicago. I am a junior at DePaul University, majoring in Public Relations and Advertising with a concentration in Marketing. This will be my very first entry for CollegeFashionista! I have been an avid follower of the site, and am beyond excited to now be apart of the Fashionista family. I am so incredibly thrilled to be given this opportunity and to be able to pursue my passion through this amazing content outlet.

Fashion has always been a part of me. Whether it has been sharing my tips and tricks or styling friends and family, I am always honored to be the “go-to” for fashion advice!

I think everyone can recall that very first assignment in elementary school, where your teacher asked you to write about “what you want to be when you grow up.” At the age of 11, I wrote that I hoped to become the editor of Vogue…a girl can certainly dream! But seriously, I am a firm believer that hard work will always be worth it. I think it is essential to dream big. It is what drives those aspirations to become realities. With that said, fashion has inspired who I am and what I hope to become. I am a creative soul that seeks inspiration daily. My love for all things fashion coincides with my passion for journalism, beauty, lifestyle, health/fitness, photography and traveling! I have always felt at home in the city; whether I am in Chicago, New York City or San Francisco.

As I have grown into myself, my style has definitely evolved, but I will always continue to not have one look that defines me. I think it is important to be open minded, especially when it comes to personal style. Self-expression should be organic, intuitive and allow for creative individuality. Anything bohemian and hippie chic I tend to always gravitate towards. I love taking risks with fashion and finding pieces that are unique. However, I have a desire for simplicity. You can never go wrong with great denim, classic sunnies and a staple cotton T-shirt. Less is always more in my book!

Join me on CollegeFashionista to stay up to date every Thursday this summer with some trendy articles! I cannot wait to be inspired by all of these incredible Gurus on this site!
