In the words of Rachel Zoe, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” Fashion has always been a big part of my life. Even from the early age of three, I would try on multiple pieces of clothing before even heading down to breakfast. Now as a sophomore Marketing/Merchandising major in college, I still have that same problem. The way somebody dresses, I believe, is one of the most creative ways one can express themselves. I am honored to be the Style Guru for the University of Nebraska at Lincoln’s campus. CollegeFashionista is the perfect opportunity for me to spot people around campus expressing themselves through their choice of clothing.
When reflecting the question of my personal style many thoughts come to my mind. Edgy, classic, spunky, bold, against the grind, girly, punk and chic are many of the few. Yes, many of those are antonyms of one another, but I don’t think you can exactly pin point my individual style in just a few words. I wear what I like because it makes me feel good. My outfits reflect my mood, how I feel and also tell a bit about myself. I can’t put myself into one particular label or style because I don’t want to. But I am so excited to be able to capture the different styles throughout the campus of Lincoln, whatever they may look like.
Some may call it being naïve or young, but I believe in finding the beauty in everyday life. I am looking forward to being inspired and inspiring others as I embark on this journey with CollegeFashionista.
