STYLE GURU BIO: Tendrina Alexandre

Bonjour, fashion lovers!

Tendrina (Ten) Alexandre here, and I am a senior at the gorgeous University at Albany. I’m a double major in journalism and communications with a minor in theatre. I’m hoping that with a degree in these that my future will consist of a  fabulous career in the fashion and entertainment industry.

This is going to be my fourth and final (tear!) semester writing for this amazing website. I’ve learned so much about myself, and about you guys, during my time here. Fashion is such an individual yet universal language, and it’s been so exciting to witness the stories of various Fashionistas/os I’ve spotted. A wardrobe says a lot about a person, don’t you think?

A little more about myself, for those of you who are meeting me for the first time: other than fashion and entertainment, I enjoy traveling, eating and participating in new and unique experiences. I’ve also quickly become a beauty addict, and I have most recently developed an addiction to reading self-love/inspirational books. In my spare time I enjoy being active, online shopping (shoes are my weakness), writing for eatthecakeblog.com and watching feel-good television (Friends, Sex and the City, Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder). Some of my most amazing style icons include Kendall Jenner, Patricia Bright, Gigi Hadid and Rihanna.

As my college career comes to an end, I can’t help but feel excited about the road I am about to embark on. Life can lead us in so many different directions! I can’t believe that it’s finally time to start making all of my biggest dreams come true. I’ve been becoming a more professional version of myself, which is definitely necessary as I participate in internships and go on interviews. As a result, I’ve found that a lot of my fashion budget has been going towards business wear—like the look I’m sporting above.

I got this fabulous peplum jacket on sale at H&M, which has always been one of my go-to shopping spots. I love the way it adds some sassy personality to my look. Just because I have to dress business doesn’t mean it has to be boring! I kept the rest of the look simple by throwing on a pair of slim trousers, and my favorite pair of Steve Madden pumps. Since it is getting a little cooler outside, I’ve layered the look with this trench coat, leather gloves and warm wool scarf, which will DEFINITELY be my go-to accessory all winter. I chose my bright red Aldo bag to add a little bit more life to my outfit.

I hope you all are enjoying your holidays! Don’t forget to follow me on all of my social media, and keep checking in for some exciting new articles highlighting the fashion lovers all over my campus.
