STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Sprague

Hi fellow Fashionistas/os, my name is Taylor Sprague and this is my first summer here at CollegeFashionista. I am ecstatic to officially be a Style Guru and I cannot wait to share my posts with all of you. I am currently studying journalism at San Diego State University and this new venture into fashion blogging is only the beginning.  Keep reading to find out a bit more about me.

I currently call the beautiful, beach city of San Diego home. Although my roots take me back to the eclectic and eccentric Long Beach, California.  Each area of Long Beach has its own vibe; whether you are on the West side where you can find bikini bottoms and surfboards or the East side where hipsters are abound. There is always groundbreaking and innovative fashion to be found. No matter where this world takes me, I will always credit Long Beach as the foundation for my love of fashion and its immense impact on my personal style.

As cliché and superficial as this may sound, clothes are the key to my heart.  Ever since I was a little girl, getting dressed for the day has always been an adventure.  I took pride in picking out my own outfits and this was rewarded when I won best dressed in the sixth grade (pretty impressive, I know). This young love for fashion has transcended into my college years and helped me establish my own sense of style. Describing my taste in clothes is hard to formulate in a few sentences. I consider my style very diverse.  You can sometimes find me in high-wasted pants with my Comme des Garçons high-top canvas sneakers and a simple black bodysuit or you may find me in an edgy leather jacket paired with fitted cigarette pant and a Supreme T-shirt. Oh, and I cannot forget my trusty leather backpack with a puff keychain.  I would say that the defining element of my style is mixing traditional with edgy, like these vintage Levi Brand shorts and grunge fishnets. With these key elements, I am ready to head out the door and take any day by storm.

Thank you for joining me on this journey ahead, and I cannot wait for what summer 2016 has in store.
