STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Palmby

I can’t wait to start my second semester as a Style Guru. I loved spending the summer as a Style Guru. I had an amazing time scavenging the streets for super RAD street style. CollegeFashionista has definitely improved my style and shopping habits; I’ve found myself spending a lot more time online shopping and following the style advice of super trendy Fashionistas/os. I’m ecstatic to spend this semester meeting many more stylish folks.

I spent much of my time this summer trying to rationalize not only to myself, but to my mother the necessity of buying more clothes, shoes and accessories. My lovely mother often tells me I have a shopping problem and I tell her it could be worse. I am a religious reader of Cosmo, and I like to blog about my chaotic life in my spare time. I have an unhealthy obsession with 5 Seconds of Summer and spend many nights dreaming about the moment I meet Luke Hemmings, and he inevitably falls in love with me. Most days, you can find me relaxing on the terrace with a book, or having intense dance parties in my living room while singing All Time Low at the top of my lungs.

For this look and many other looks in my wardrobe, I drew inspiration from one of my fashion idols: the lovely and terrifying Blair Waldorf. I often find myself thinking, “What would Blair Waldorf do?” This thought runs through my mind not only when I’m getting dressed in the morning, but also as I contemplate important life decisions. I know that no one can pull off a midi skirt the way Blair can, but I thought I would give it a shot. I found this black midi skirt at a Ted Baker store while I was visiting London; it was love at first sight. I decided to pair it with a black and white striped crop top in an effort to add a modern twist to a timeless piece. I spent months looking for these white buckle heels, and I finally found them online. My current obsession is my big, black rimmed hat. I wear it more often than I should, but I think it adds a bit of class to every look.

I’m definitely looking forward to an amazing semester with all of you. Cheers to a sophomore year filled with style and sass. Stay RAD!
