STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Mierendorf

Welcome to the life and mind of Taylor Mierendorf!

I am a freshman at the University of South Florida studying Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism. I was born in California and then moved to Illinois at the age of two, long before I can even remember. I lived just outside of the city and remember it well! There is no proper way to describe how it felt to be so small in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

At the age of 11 I was hoisted away to Oklahoma because of my dad’s job, leaving me to begin middle school knowing absolutely no one. It may have seemed like a nightmare at first, but I am grateful for the culture shock and the chance to meet such great people along the way. After living in a small town in Oklahoma for six years, I moved to Florida due to my dad’s job once more for my senior year of high school. I became an individual that learned to adapt to her surroundings and embrace a certain kind of strength that can only come from within.

Throughout moving, I relied heavily on writing. It became more than a hobby, it became a passion. To this day I live and breathe poetry, novels, blogs—you name it. Along with my passion for writing is my love for the beauty and diversity of humanity, and capturing that beauty through photography. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel across the globe with my parents, spotting unique and enticing trends along the way. Needless to say, I have seen quite a bit in my short 19 years, but now I am on the biggest journey of my life: I’m in college. What better place to see and experience so many new things all at once?

Combining writing, photography and fashion sounds like a dream. Follow me on my journey through college and my internship with CollegeFashionista, where it is my mission to deliver fashion tips, tricks and treats by sharing pictures, ideas and advice to my fellow readers. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you will join me on this beautiful ride called life.
